Khizi Kizhi (a term from the Malayalam language from South India) Ayurvedic Treatment is a complete rejuvenation therapy comprising of synchronized special massage, Herbal Steam Bath, Njavarakizhi etc. Khizi is an abyanga massage given through heat and leaves that essentially involves very hot oil being applied through a technique akin to energetic use of a wire brush. Kizhi Ayurvedic treatment involves application of special Njavara rice paste. The body is massaged gently with linen bags filled with Njavara rice cooked well in herbal decoction. Herbal leaves and herbal powders are applied to the whole body in boluses with hot medicated oils. It creates a great deal of warmth and energy that intuitively one feels must be beneficial to someone suffering from different types of body pain. Then 'purgation' is done which is effectively a method of accelerating disposal of excess from the body, a process with the oral intake of large amounts of powder with boiling hot water. Having mobilised and purgated, then the body is given Shirodhara treatment, which is the application of buttermilk or oil to one's forehead and temples - extremely relaxing and possibly the most recognizable form of Ayurvedic treatment. This carefully planned health Program is directed towards improving vigor and vitality. It also goes a long way to tone up the skin and improve complexion i.e. it is a return to the bliss of eternal youth. If you are suffering from any pain (body muscular pain or joint pain in arthritis) Khizi is right choice to get you free from pain.
